TRYP Hotel by Wyndham is a boutique hospitality project located in Pittsburgh’s Lawrenceville neighborhood. The adaptive reuse project transformed the historic Washington Education Center Building, formerly the City of Pittsburgh Trade School, into a six-story hotel with 108 guest rooms and a range of hospitality and dining amenities.

Franjo Construction completed the renovation while preserving elements of the original structure and incorporating reused materials throughout the project. Interior spaces feature locally inspired design elements, themed floor concepts, and artwork from regional artists integrated throughout the hotel experience.

The completed development includes multiple restaurant and bar concepts, a rooftop terrace, coffee bar, fitness center, conference and event spaces, and additional guest amenities. The project received the AIA Pittsburgh 2019 “Certificate of Merit” award in the Large category.
